The Girls' Club Collection of Contemporary Art engaged local artists Amalia Caputo + Marina Font to present a web-based project in conjunction with the exhibition The Moment.The Backdrop.The Persona.

9TOPICS was an open to all, long term, Instagram-based photo project that called for monthly thematic submissions in relation to the interpretation of the SELF.

In a digital era of hyper-connectivity and immediacy, in wich "selfies" abound, Caputo + Font question "How do we represent the SELF without the "selfie"?

The SELF: Our relation with the notion of self is complex, enriching and exiting.  Is it based on our mental perception, our chemistry, or is it the world that surrounds us that defines who and what we are?

Using Instagram as a massive, borderless platform, 9TOPICS engaged local and international communities in a thorough brainstorming and construction of visual responses that collectively define our existence nowadays.
